[📚Sunday Book Club]: Adam Grant; Originals [ how non-conformists move the world]

“In the deepest sense of the word, a friend is someone who sees more potential in you than you see in yourself, someone who helps you become the best version of yourself.” ― Adam M. Grant, Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World

This quote hit me hard. ❤️

Let me tell you, my last hustle started in 2010 and hasn’t finished yet. I moved mountains, made the impossible possible, and paid a high price. (God knows) However, none of it would have been possible without a solid cheerleading team in my corner.

Like it or not, we are the product of our own environment. And I hope that you have your human angels on your side.

Now to our Sunday Book Club…

Adam Grant is an organizational psychologist at Wharton. He’s been recognized as one of the world’s 10 most influential management thinkers. His work is dedicated to: motivation, creativity, generosity and human potential.  I read a couple of his books and today I want to shine the spotlight on his ‘Originals’.

In my opinion, every single human is an Original, not only with our unique DNA, but also with the whole mixture of our childhood, ethnicity, culture and personal experience— aka, life itself. And here comes the opportunity to make a difference as an Original.

Adam’s perspective will stretch you and challenge you to think differently. Here are a couple of quotes to get you started on your growth path: 🤓

“Being original doesn't mean you have to be the first, but it does mean you have to be different and better”.

“Ultimately, the people who choose to champion originality are the ones who propel us forward. After spending years studying them and interacting with them, I am struck that their inner experiences are not any different from our own. They feel the same fear, the same doubt, as the rest of us. What sets them apart is that they take action anyway. They know in their hearts that failing would yield less regret than failing to try.”

“The hallmark of originality is rejecting the default and exploring whether a better option exists.”

Adam’s book offers a deeper perspective of us becoming Original: creating new ideas, confronting outdated traditions and concepts and improving the world around us.

I know, it might seem way out there, but repeat after me: “I’m an Original and I can make a difference”. All of this is, by the way, totally applicable to your real estate business. You just need to continuously question how things are done and seek improvement.

You are an Original. 🙌

Now! Let’s make a difference

Love, Hana❤️

P.S. A little poem delight for those who might fear embracing the originality:

“There is freedom waiting for you,
On the breezes of the sky,
And you ask "What if I fall?"
Oh but my darling,
What if you fly?”
