The Mountain is You, Part 2

The Mountain is You, Part 2

Last week I highlighted a book by Brianna Wiest; The Mountain is You. Just to remind you, it was about self-sabotage: why, when and how we do it, and more importantly, how to stop it. You can read last week's book club post HERE.

This Sunday I would like to do something new. How about we continue the same book and add a little exercise? You only need to be willing to let go of the familiar—be brave and embrace growth and authenticity.

Remember the poem by Erin Hanson?

“There is freedom waiting for you,
On the breezes of the sky,
And you ask "What if I fall?"
Oh but my darling,
What if you fly?”

Now I’ll give you a few questions to ask yourself:

  1. What are ways in which you’ve self-sabotaged in the past?
  2. What are difficult truths for you to accept about yourself and your life?
  3. What are some of your upper limits?

Take as much time as you need. There are no wrong answers — we are all unique and nobody is perfect! Trust the process and be willing to grow.

After you finish this part, move to your action plan:
  1. List your top 3 - 5 goals to accomplish this year. Create a detailed plan for each goal.
  2. Journal or visualize how your life will look when you achieve each goal.
  3. Keep your list and action plan handy to reflect on it daily/weekly.

We all have our own aspirations and dreams, and unless we take concrete actions, these thoughts will only remain thoughts.

This exercise is a form of self-discovery where you are finding not yourself, but the person you are meant to be. Which means the sky is the limit, right?

Stay humble, yet grow strong and never ever give up. Next week we’ll dig even deeper, so grab the book and take better charge of your life.  You can purchase it on Amazon HERE.

Love, Hana

P.S.
"Your new life is going to cost you your old one. It’s going to cost you your comfort zone and your sense of direction. It’s going to cost you relationships and friends. It’s going to cost you being liked and understood. It doesn’t matter. The people who are meant for you are going to meet you on the other side. You’re going to build a new comfort zone around the things that actually move you forward. Instead of being liked, you’re going to be loved. Instead of being understood, you’re going to be seen."  Brianna Wiest
